Education/Children program
Ssuubi Children’s Center is currently the biggest part of our ministry. It is located in the Village of Bukeka, in the district of Kayunga. We have 90 students between the ages of 3 – 6 years old, all of which come from the poorest families within the village. 90 children may seem like a big number to have at a pre-school, but it is just a drop in the ocean among the 982 kids under the age of 5 that live in this community.
Class is from 8:30 to 12:30 Monday through Friday. We currently have 4 teachers who work hard to prepare the children to enter primary school when they have finished their schooling at Ssuubi Children’s Center.
The kids each receive one meal of porridge every morning, have recess, and are having the opportunity to an education that will broaden their abilities for a better future!
The word “Suubi” in Luganda means “Hope”. That is what we want to give these kids. Hope for their future…. Please continue to pray with us on behalf of these amazing little lives!
