At Global Hands of Hope, it is our mission to

 support the grass root communities of Uganda

in the fight against poverty and hunger to ensure child provision, protection and development . To do this, we

partner with individuals to identify their resources

 and enable them to develop a lifestyle

 Children’s Program:

 

 

The children in these communities are the biggest priority for Global Hands of Hope. We have started a school in the Kayunga District in the village of Bukeka. Suubi Children’s Center is able to meet the needs of 85 children from the village by providing them with an education, protection and food.

The word "Suubi" in Luganda means "Hope". What we are striving for is to fill these kids with the hope of a better future.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Food Security and Agro-Business:

 

 

Our “Community Economic Development Program” works primarily with disadvantaged households in which children are at very high risk in order to help them discover the resources that are within their reach. We teach them how to properly plant, raise and harvest crops even on a small plot of land. By doing this, they learn that they have the ability not only to earn an income, but to give their family the nutritional food that is so desperately needed.    

 

 

 

 

Vocational Training:
 

 
We are helping the young men and women in the community by giving them hands on training in an area of expertise. By giving them the opportunity to master a skill, it improves their chances of getting out of poverty and earning a stable income to support their families. Each student must complete a “Leadership and Character Development Course; Agro-Business training as well as one of the following courses: wood-working, metal and electric works, construction, tailoring, cooking, or motor mechanics.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Volunteer Program: 

 

Our volunteer program is set up in a way that each volunteer can directly reach out with their skills and testimonies to transform the lives of those around them. Whether it be individuals or groups, we will find places within the community that will benefit from their experience and talents. We work with volunteers on a short term or long term basis. After their time in Uganda, volunteers will see the mark and influence that they have left not only in the community, but also in their own lives.
